Yinson GreenTech, through its electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure business, chargEV, introduces chargEV 2.0, a refreshed mobile app designed to make EV charging easier for everyday drivers.
The announcement also marks chargEV’s milestone of facilitating one million charging sessions since Yinson GreenTech acquired the business back in 2022. The upgrade leverages insights gained from over a decade of operational experience as one of Malaysia’s leading charge point operators.
Built with the EV user in mind, chargEV 2.0 is designed to make charging simple, intuitive and fast. Highlights include a cleaner look, one-click charging and AutoCharge, which helps improve charging convenience and experience at the charging point. Through the new chargEV 2.0 app, users can enjoy a more seamless charging experience across a nationwide network covering everyday destinations such as shopping malls, hotels, retail outlets, automotive dealerships, offices and high-traffic urban locations. By providing a practical mix of AC and DC chargers where people live, work and travel, chargEV makes it easier for EV drivers to integrate charging naturally into their daily routines.
The launch of chargEV 2.0 is supported by chargEV’s continued network upgrades and expansion across Malaysia. This includes strengthening high-traffic sites, improving charger availability at existing locations and expanding into areas where charging access remains limited. Recent deployments include Merdeka 118, selected AEON Mall locations and at towns such as Gemas, Raub, Teluk Intan and Kuala Kangsar. chargEV is committed to progressively deploy fast chargers along key Malaysian highway corridors, providing drivers with greater confidence and convenience for long-distance and interstate travel.
These efforts reflect chargEV’s broader efforts towards EV adoption by bridging both the EV charging infrastructure and digital touchpoints, making it convenient for EV drivers to access its interoperable network in Malaysia and across borders.
The all-new chargEV 2.0 app will be available to users on 28 July 2026 via the App Store or Google Play.
