PROTON Boosts ownership value with service and Aftersales support

National automotive brand PROTON is strengthening its ownership proposition by combining competitive servicing costs for the All-New Saga and Proton S70 with continued investment in aftersales support, helping customers manage vehicle expenses beyond the initial purchase.

For households considering their next car purchase, affordability involves more than the selling price or monthly instalment. Regular maintenance costs and convenient access to dependable servicing also influence how comfortably a vehicle fits into the family budget.

A 5-year and 10-year study by PROTON’s After Sales team highlights how competitive labour charges and complimentary labour benefits help keep scheduled servicing expenses manageable, reinforcing the value offered by its sedan range.

Competitive maintenance strengthens the S70 proposition
The naturally aspirated S70 records an estimated 5-year scheduled maintenance cost of RM4,010.59. Based on the study’s summary comparison, this is approximately RM1,591 lower than the leading non-national B-segment competitor and RM433 lower than another rival that was recently launched. The advantage extends to longer ownership periods. Its estimated 10-year maintenance cost of RM9,070.09 represents savings of approximately RM2,191 and RM1,252 against both benchmark rivals.

The study also demonstrates competitive costs for the turbocharged S70. Its estimated 5-year maintenance cost is approximately RM1,076 below the first rival and is broadly comparable with the other, being only RM83 higher. Over 10 years, its estimated maintenance cost is approximately RM1,575 and RM629 lower despite being a physically bigger vehicle offering a much higher level of driving performance.

These findings strengthen the S70’s appeal to buyers considering both the vehicle’s capabilities and the ongoing cost of maintaining it. Six complimentary labour services under the provisions assessed contribute to its competitive servicing proposition.

Saga delivers value beyond the purchase price
The All-New Saga offers estimated five-year scheduled maintenance costs starting from approximately RM3,357. Both its four-speed automatic and CVT versions record lower 5-year costs than the national brand benchmark used in the study, with savings of approximately RM174 and RM64 respectively.

Three complimentary labour services help reduce the Saga’s servicing expenditure during the early years of ownership. For first-time buyers and families seeking practical everyday transport, competitive maintenance adds to the model’s affordability.

The study covers scheduled maintenance items, prescribed replacements, labour charges and applicable taxes, based on 100,000km over five years and 200,000km over 10 years. Parts, lubricants and other applicable items remain payable under complimentary labour provisions.

Investment supports customers beyond the service bill
PROTON’s wider aftersales strategy complements its pricing approach by strengthening service accessibility and parts supply as its customer base grows. Regional Parts Centres in Kuching and Kota Kinabalu support the distribution of aftersales parts and components across East Malaysia, bringing supply closer to the workshops and customers that depend on it.

This is complemented by PROTON’s industry-leading network of integrated 3S/4S outlets. As of June 2026, the network included 178 such facilities, providing sales, servicing and spare parts under one roof, with Body & Paint services available at 4S centres.

Service efficiency is another priority. PROTON’s Faster & Better initiative is guided by three customer commitments: FS90 Fast Service, 1 Day Service Delivery and a Work-In-Progress target of no more than three days. These initiatives are designed to improve turnaround times and workshop efficiency.

“As sales of Proton vehicles grow, our customers want to know their vehicle will remain affordable to maintain and that dependable support is within reach. Our focus is on combining competitive servicing costs with trained technicians, genuine parts and convenient access to our authorised network. Together, these help customers plan their maintenance spending and enjoy greater confidence throughout ownership,” said Wan Hazran Wan Mustafa, Director of After Sales.

Customers can obtain model-specific maintenance schedules, quotations and complimentary labour eligibility from authorised PROTON service centres. Service centre locations and further information are available at www.proton.com and through the MyProton app.
