KLIMS 2026 Wraps Up with 205,440 Visitors, Steering Malaysia's Automotive Industry "Beyond Mobility"

The 11th edition of the Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show 2026 (KLIMS 2026) concluded last weekend at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC), receiving over 205,440 visitors across its 10-day run. Organised by the Malaysian Automotive Association (MAA) and managed by Qube Integrated Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. (Qube), the show brought together leading automotive and mobility brands under the theme “Beyond Mobility,” highlighting the industry’s transition towards greener technologies, electrification and a more connected, intelligent mobility ecosystem.

Spanning seven halls across MITEC, KLIMS 2026 featured a strong line-up of participating brands including Dongfeng, GWM, Honda, Hyundai, Jetour, Kia, Maxus, Mazda, MG Motors, Nissan, Perodua, Proton, Proton e.MAS, smart, Toyota, Wuling, XPENG and Zeekr, alongside AFAZ and Suzuki, represent the motorcycle category.

Beyond attracting strong visitor turnout, KLIMS 2026 also generated strong commercial interest among participating exhibitors, reflecting positive consumer engagement throughout the showcase. Visitor participation across experiential activities was equally encouraging, with the “Experience The Drive” programme and the Urban Play obstacle course emerging as key attractions that allowed visitors to engage directly with the latest mobility technologies in a hands-on environment. The automotive culture remained a strong highlight, with Car Club Gatherings bringing together car enthusiasts from across the country in a vibrant display of community spirit and shared passion for mobility.

Beyond showcasing the latest vehicles and technologies, KLIMS has evolved into a comprehensive mobility platform that brings together the entire automotive ecosystem to foster collaboration, accelerate innovation and support Malaysia’s transition towards a safer, cleaner and more sustainable mobility future.”  

KLIMS 2026 was defined by a series of headline unveils that captured the imagination of visitors and industry alike. This year, Proton strengthened its electric future with the CKD e.MAS 5 and flagship e.MAS 7 Premium Plus, while Honda introduced the long‑awaited Prelude hybrid coupe to the Malaysian market. Hyundai electrified audiences with its high‑performance Ioniq 5 N and Ioniq 6 N, marking the arrival of the N brand locally, alongside the launch of the family‑friendly Stargazer. Mazda expanded its line‑up with the CX‑60 MHEV, while MG Motor added the versatile ZS Hybrid+ and the striking Cyberster. Rugged utility came from Jetour with the launch of the T2 i‑DM plug‑in hybrid SUV and the G700 SUV, underscoring the diversity of new models on show.

Breakthrough concepts captured visitors’ attention with bold visions of future mobility. Perodua unveiled its C2 Concept, a prototype EV sedan signaling the brand’s next chapter, alongside QV‑E G+ Edition preview. Toyota reimagined its iconic Corolla through an electrified concept, while Proton showcased its FutureMotion HEV powertrain. Global innovators also stunned audiences when XPeng presented the futuristic X2 flying car, and Dongfeng previewed the premium Voyah Dream MPV.

Global brands reinforced KLIMS as a launchpad for future mobility with exclusive previews. Zeekr showcased the flagship 9X SUV and ultra‑luxury 009 Grand MPV, while TQ Wuling introduced the Huajing S. Kia unveiled its upcoming EV4 sedan, EV5 SUV, PV5 van, and the K4 sedan, while GWM brought the Ora 5 HEV and Haval Raptor. Nissan also introduced the facelifted X‑Trail e‑Power and Dongfeng added the 008 EV SUV and rugged M‑Hero II PHEV.

Introducing a festive agenda to the show, KLIMS 2026 brought together Malaysian celebrities live performances including Ella, Anuar Zain, Lah Ahmad, FUGŌ, Kyoto Protocol, and many more. This year marked the first-ever collaboration between KLIMS and RIUH, a creative platform under MyCreative Ventures, bringing local creative entrepreneurs and hobby communities for a curated RIUH Bazaar at KLIMS, drumline showcases by Voice of Percussion, fusion dance performances by Siluman Production, and a live recording of The Overdrive Session Automotive Podcast.

This year, visitors stood a chance to win Lucky Draw, with prizes worth a total of RM125,000, including the grand prize winner Foo Yan Ling, who drove away in a Perodua Bezza AV, courtesy of Grand Prize Sponsor, Perodua, with QBE coming on board as Bronze Sponsor. KLIMS 2026 also introduced the KLIMS Creator Award in collaboration with GoFluence, recognising digital voices who helped bring the show and its “Beyond Mobility” theme to audiences online, encompassing five categories: the Top Creator Award, Highest Engagement Award, Top Content Creation Award, Mobility Storytelling Award, and Best On-Ground Coverage Award. Winners of each category took home RM1,000 in cash, in recognition of their creativity, influence and impact in showcasing KLIMS 2026 to wider digital audiences. Apart from this, KLIMS also introduced exciting challenges including the Race Car Simulator Challenge, Remote Control Car Experience and KLIMS Modified Car Battle.
