Chery Corporate Malaysia and Touch ’n Go have signed a Strategic Collaboration Agreement to advance Malaysia’s digital mobility ecosystem. As part of the partnership, branded RFID tags will be offered as a bundled item with selected new Chery, Omoda Jaecoo and iCaur models sold nationwide.
Chery Corporate Malaysia, which oversees the Chery, Omoda Jaecoo and iCAUR brands, has rapidly established itself as one of the leading automotive players in the local market. Since 2023, its signature brand, Chery has delivered over 30,073 vehicles nationwide through a growing network of nearly 60 dealerships and aftersales outlets across Malaysia. Whereas Omoda Jaecoo recorded 17,849 units in 2025 alone, representing over 150% year‑on‑year growth and underscoring strong consumer confidence in the group’s products and technology.
This initiative demonstrates Chery’s Corporate Malaysia forward-looking approach to vehicle readiness by providing customers with RFID at the point of sale to supporting seamless tolling experiences. It also highlights the role of RFID as an important enabler within Malaysia’s evolving mobility landscape. RFID is designed to be interoperable and is compatible with any Single Lane Fast Flow (SLFF) or Multi-lane Fast Flow (MLFF) systems that may be deployed in the future, thus offering an innovative and scalable solution that can support future developments in tolling and road usage.
Men Lin Bo, Executive Vice President of Chery Corporate Malaysia, said, “At Chery Corporate Malaysia, innovation goes beyond vehicle design because we are committed to deliver smarter ownership experiences. By integrating RFID tags at the point of sale, we are empowering our customers with immediate, hassle-free access to Malaysia’s evolving tolling infrastructure. Working with Touch ’n Go aligns with our commitment to customer convenience and our support for the government’s digital mobility vision.”
Meanwhile, Praba Sangarajoo, CEO of Touch ’n Go Group, added, “It is encouraging to see an automotive partner like Chery Corporate Malaysia taking proactive steps to make RFID accessible to their customers from day one. Our collaboration also highlights the automotive industry’s recognition of RFID as an important tool, reflecting a shared belief that RFID is not merely a payment system, but it is an essential tool for the future of mobility in Malaysia.”
Chery Corporate Malaysia and Touch ’n Go will also collaborate closely on upcoming marketing campaigns aimed at increasing public awareness, understanding, and usage of RFID. Together, both companies are bridging automotive innovation with digital infrastructure to deliver a more connected, efficient, and future-ready driving experience for Malaysians
